Castle of Tin – Lochranza

A metal packaging solution produced by IPL Packaging, the latest edition (Volume 2) to The Isle of Arran Explorers Series, pays homage to Lochranza Castle, an L-plan tower house situated on a promontory on the north of the Isle of Arran in Scotland.

The castle dates from the 13th century (though most of it was built in the 16th century) and was the model for the castle in The Adventures of Tintin comic The Black Island, for the English translation in the 1960s when the drawings were modernized.

The metallic tin features embossed and screen-printed branding and, echoing the labeling on the bottle itself, depicts the wildlife, glorious scenery and natural surrounds of Lochranza castle in the muted style of a painted landscape. Containing a removable EVA bottle fitment, the tin was manufactured with secondary use as a primary consideration.
