The iconic Napa Valley winery Sterling Vineyards, known for its ‘Always Polished, Never Dull’ lifestyle, returned to television’s most anticipated night as the Official Wine Sponsor of the 70th Emmy® Awards Season.
Setting a celebratory mood amongst Governors Ball guests, all were treated to a selection of classic Sterling Vineyards Napa Valley wines.
It was the winery’s 3rd year as Official Wine Sponsor of the awards but the 2nd year that Sterling Vineyards added an extra touch of sophistication to the star-studded evening, by gifting a special limited-edition, personalised bottle of the 2015 Sterling Vineyards Iridium Cabernet Sauvignon to each Emmy, award winner.
In keeping with the exceptional quality of the ultra-limited wine itself; each wine case was constructed using a 5mm custom-made clear acrylic tube complete with machined stainless steel fitments. Laser engraved Sterling Vineyard’s branding, etched into the stainless steel, was ink-filled in colours of black and gold.
Each tube featured a machine-thread opening mechanism, allowing for the tube lid and base to seamlessly align with the branding. Additionally, an EVA fitment was designed to fit into both the lid and base of the tube so as to hold the bottle firmly in place.
Each personalised keepsake also featured a stainless steel removable and magnetic name plaque, specifically engraved with the name of each winner.
“This is a great wine,” 72-year-old Henry Winkler, who won his first Emmy, for best-supporting actor in a comedy series, for his role in HBO’s Barry, was quoted as saying. “I’ve never had a bottle with my name on it.”
2015 is just the second vintage of the winery’s premier luxury Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, named appropriately for one of the rarest elements on earth. Made in only the very best vintages with the finest and most intense expression of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Iridium is ‘the pinnacle of winemaking perfection’ says it’s makers.
